Good afternoon, now running for the President of the Long Island Limo Association, it is with GREAT HONOR that I accept the nomination and responsibility to lead the Association going forward into 2019, and beyond.
Yes, these past 12 months have been a rather difficult time for the board and general membership, with disagreements, issues of controversy, and problems with the internal reporting structure of the entity; which by the way have been addressed in detail, as we got back on the right track, for all members involved.
That said, I am very proud of being part of the work in progress in moving forward, fixing some problems, and setting the stage and framework for growth and prosperity for years to come.
The issues that directly affect you, the membership, and the health of the industry, are the most important issues that I focus ‘in’ on a daily basis; this I could assure you is true.
a. Suffolk/Nassau TLC; the cost of both agencies to the industry, and how we might try to mitigate those costs going forward
b. Issues surrounding the DOT and the effect it has on the bus industry, and the continued growth in this area
c. Taxes; are we being represented and assessed correctly; are we being unfairly taxed in comparison to other industries, or other’s within our own industry (Uber/Lyft)
d. Is the compliance that we are forced to live with unfairly being thrown at us, while others within the same game aren’t asked to comply to the same (Uber/Lyft)
e. Are their certain operators not complying, taking advantage of our inability to monitor those actions; this makes us all look bad
f. Are we totally addressing the insurance issue as well as we could? Is there something more that can be done; I will certainly press this issue
g. Issues with drivers are always a problem, what can we do in working with insurance companies allowing for vetting, training and hiring drivers on probation that are new to the industry; we need new driver blood, as the pool has been reduced by the influence of Uber & Lyft – how do we create a better driver pool..
h. Create more unity within the Association, more trust among the members, more cooperation, better communication, and create a forum to handle and settle disputes when they arise
As I understand that it’s been a tough year, no doubt about that, we need to come together, all of us, while creating a better Association for all members who wish to join the forces and fight the enemies that we find outside the group; enemies “within” create strife, and conflict, while taking us away from the most pressing issues at hand. Issues that once solved, will put money in our pockets, allow for growth, and destroy the enemies found at the gates.
WE CANNOT ALLOW SILLY ISSUES HOLDING US BACK FROM AN AGENDA SET FORTH TO HELP THE GROWTH OF THIS INDUSTRY; THIS SHOULD BE A MANDATE SET FORTH BY ALL MEMBERS
I want to fight for all of you, work for all of you, and grow this industry to LEVELS NEVER SEEN BEFORE.
THAT SAID ON TUESDAY MAY 15TH ALL STAR LIMO WOULD LIKE TO INVITE THE ENTIRE MEMBERSHIP TO A MEET & GREET IN THEIR FACILITY TO DISCUSS THE FUTURE, MY IDEAS OF HOW TO GET US THERE, AND TO LISTEN TO ANY SUGGESTIONS THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE ON HOW TO MAKE THIS ASSOCIATION A BETTER ASSOCIATION FOR ALL MEMBERS.
PLEASE JOIN ME AT 6PM AT ALL STAR LIMO (380 NEW HIGHWAY, LINDENHURST) WHERE FOOD & DRINKS WILL BE SERVED FOR ALL!
MORE IMPORTANTLY I VERY MUCH LOOK FORWARD TO SHARING MY IDEAS, MY THOUGHTS AND MY FUTURE DIRECTION IF ELECTED PRESIDENT.
Penny Casey for President!
